I am a teenager living in Seattle, Washington. When I was nine I moved to Copenhagen, Denmark with my parents, little sister, and dog for two and a half years, where I started my first blog, BookBird. Now, I’m back in the states, and I’m trying to capture my world and share it with you. I hope you enjoy it.
How I got started
When I was about 7 or 8, I got a small digital camera for Christmas. I used that thing until it stopped turning on. Shortly after that we moved, and I lost interest in photography without my camera. But a couple of years later, I noticed my father using this impressive looking black camera with a billion buttons and this gargantuan lens. “Can I try”?” I asked. All throughout France, Spain, and Italy I was shooting people… with my little silver Canon borrowed from my mother and, later, the formidable, sleek black piece of technology that is now my best friend. Now it’s an unstoppable force.
What I shoot with
For any camera geeks out there, I shoot with a Nikon D5000 DSLR. I try to do as little post-processing as possible. I’ll do these 3 things: crop, adjust the exposure, and add filters/tones (black & white, sepia, red filter, etc.). For photo editing I use Windows Live Photo Gallery (I know, fancy, right?). That’s about it.
